hi there:

fist of all thanks. and sorry for the delay to respond, i had some problems with my ISP, that seems to be over now.

if you are refering to the laptop battery monitor (fn+f2), well i never been able to put it to work under linux, but i really don't care and it does not make me any difference.

to measure my laptop battery i use the Power Manager 2.14.3 for gnome, it is the default aplication on ubuntu 6.06, and it works very well right out of the box.

I have the same laptop and I am running Debian Sarge. I was wondering if under Ubuntu the battery monitor works well, because I haven't been able to set mine up yet.

Good documentation for the dvd dma!
